Band Spotlight: Fierce Invalids

Born in the summer of 2022, this “post-everything” California trio has been laying the groundwork through a series of live shows oft described as “exhilarating, sweaty, and bursting with gristle and groove”. Tenaciously DIY and cryptic in presence, Fierce Invalids defy expectations in genre from guitar based music. Their ferocious debut EP ’tw i ste d / h ard li nes’, released in August of 2023, is quoted as being “Bold and unorthodox… draws a squiggly line between stately, chunky punk, pop punk, math rock, screamo and goth-y cabaret.” A follow up single, ‘sl op p y ch o pp y’, was released in June of 2024, and given descriptions such as “killer… beautiful musical intricacies and wild phrasing.” More outside the box tunes were inbound with an expected release, a Split EP ‘Fierce Invalids / Wagbag Split’ in tandem with progressive punk outfit Wagbag released in late July 2024. A full length LP ‘n ew bu s ine ss’ is expected early 2026.
