Artist Spotlight: Maddie Rose
Maddie Rose is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter from Hermosa Beach creating emotionally raw indie-pop music inspired by Billie Eilish, Gracie Abrams, Lizzy McAlpine, Nessa Barrett, Noah Kahan, and Ethel Cain. Through deeply personal songwriting, she explores themes of recovery, mental health, addiction, relationships, and self-discovery.
Her debut single, Show Me the Light, was written shortly after returning home from treatment, reflecting the emotional complexity of healing and learning to reconnect with yourself after struggling with an eating disorder and addiction.
Maddie met her producer, Steve Ornest, after performing in South Bay’s Got Talent, where he selected her as his “Judge’s Favorite.” Several months later, the two began working together at Total Access Studios — and Show Me the Light was born.
As she continues writing and releasing music, Maddie hopes to connect with listeners through honesty and vulnerability while spreading awareness around mental health and recovery. Beyond music, she dreams of using her platform to one day open a treatment center focused on eating disorders, addiction, and mental health — combining creativity, compassion, and healing for future generations.
