New Release: Jill Desiree - ‘Wolves’
Australian-born and Indonesian-raised, Jill Desiree brings a fresh, global perspective to vintage R&B, jazz, and soul. Few artists embody the expressive spirit of these genres quite like Jill. A Berklee College of Music alum, she channels the timeless vocal power of Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, and Whitney Houston while collaborating with some of Los Angeles’ most creative and virtuosic musicians.
Jill first captured attention with her debut EP, Cover Story—a live-recorded project featuring some of the industry’s most respected players. The release earned rave reviews and introduced a vocalist with both emotional depth and technical command. She followed with the soulful single Sounds Like Music and the acclaimed track Broken, which won Best Jazz Award in the 29th Annual USA Songwriting Competition.
Her momentum continues with multiple accolades: Jill is a Semi-Finalist for Best Female Vocalist in the 2025 Unsigned Only Music Awards for her performance of “The Rain Can Fall,” and a Finalist in the R&B category of the 30th Annual USA Songwriting Competition for her song "Wolves". With her newest release, “Tickety Tock,” Jill continues to refine her artistry—merging rich storytelling, global influence, and a sound that honors the past while pushing forward.
Here’s what Jill Desiree has to say about her latest release:
“I wrote this song with my team as a response to the world we’re living in right now. It was a finalist in the 2025 USA Songwriting Competition in the R&B/Soul category. At its core, the song reflects on how power, money, and inherited privilege can slowly pull us away from our humanity, often without us even noticing. I lean on imagery and metaphor to explore what happens when empathy fades and too many voices go unheard. I’m not interested in pointing fingers — I want my music to ask questions, spark awareness, and invite people to pause and reflect. This song asks one simple question: how long can we live this way?”
