Bronx native Ray Mercifa, also known as Dutch, is a lifelong student of hip-hop whose roots run deep in New York’s music culture. Raised around the legendary Disco Fever nightclub, his passion for sound and movement was ingrained early — shaping a career driven by resilience, creativity, and making people feel good.

Emerging in the early ’90s as part of Ruff Rugged and Raw, Ray experienced early momentum before life challenges tested his path. Through it all, he never stopped writing or creating. Today, legally blind and fully independent, Ray’s music stands for joy, unity, and positivity over violence.

Having performed at iconic college events like Freaknic, Greek Freak, and Jack the Rapper — and attending the BET Brunch in 2022 — Ray continues to uplift audiences. His latest track, “Go Crazy,” is a high-energy anthem for partygoers, encouraging listeners to dance, release stress, and enjoy life.
